You know the video of our song "California" - directed by Spike Jonze ... the guy on fire runs in slow motion. The running time is 2:22. Here it is speeded up to actual time ... 12 seconds. Cool.

So, WAX appeared in the Pauly Shore movie, Bio-Dome (1996). The plot is too ridiculous to try and explain, but WAX appears as the band in a party scene set in the bio-dome, and perform a few songs. WAX performed three tunes for the film: a cover of Cheap Trick's "He's A Whore" and two other songs, "Your Intelligence" and "Do You Wanna Dance." "He's a Whore" can only be heard in this scene, and is not on the film's official soundtrack album as the other two songs are. The film starred Pauly Shore, Stephen Baldwin, and Joey Lauren Adams. Check it out!

WAX appears in the special edition comic book The Saturday Morning Comic that Marvel Comics released 1996, and featured a bunch of the most popular bands of the day - all of whom contributed cover songs to the Saturday Morning Cartoons' Greatest Hits CD.
WAX covered "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy" from the Ren and Stimpy show. Some of the songs were made into music videos that appeared in a Cartoon Network special (later released on home video) hosted by Drew Barrymore.Look for WAX on pages 24 -25.Some of the other artists that appear in the comic book, video and CD:
The Ramones - "Spiderman"
Liz Phair - "Tra la la Song (One Banana, Two Banana)"
Butthole Surfers - "Underdog"
Violent Femmes - "Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah"
Tanya Donelly & Juliana Hatfield - "Josie and the Pussycats"

After 14 years, we finally made up! Hugs and kisses for everyone!
The last time WAX was all in the same room was at Slims in San Francisco in 1995. Damn that was a long time ago!!! Over the years we always talked about playing together again, and finally in April we decided to make it happen. Dave had a smile on his face about four miles long from the moment we all started playing. After three hours playing together, we all had smiles to match Dave’s. It was great seeing each other again and catching up on all the times we spent together.
Over the last few weeks, we loaded this site up with WAX photos and old videos for you to check out. Most of this stuff has ever been on the net, so enjoy. Also, we have four unreleased songs from back in 1995 for you to check out. These songs were originally going to be on 13 Unlucky Numbers, but at the last second we took them off.
The songs are only available on limited vinyl 7-inch from Side One Dummy Records. All the proceeds from this 7-inch will go to UCP Wheels For Humanity. For information about UCP Wheels for Humanity, and the terrific work they do, please check out their website.
About a month ago, we talked to the good people at “Riot Fest” in Chicago about the idea of WAX coming out there to play. Loomis, Soda and Dave are all originally from Chicago, so we thought it would be cool to have our first show back be in Chicago. When they asked if we would be into playing with Naked Raygun and Rights of the Accused at The Metro, we immediately answered “fuck ya!!!!”
See you in Chicago on October 9 (Soda’s Bday) at The Metro. First round is on us!!
